Looking for My Secret Garden CD

Usually I like to have some sort of background noise when I write, though if I'm in flow, it's not necessary. But to get to flow, I prefer the company of music or cafe chatter. I have yet to import my CD of The Secret Garden soundtrack, the musical. Yet perhaps it's a good thing not to be so influenced by the musical when I'm actually writing about the novel. They are two different entities.

Bid on Robert's Snow!

This week is the last auction for Robert's Snow, where you can help fight cancer by purchasing a unique one-of-a-kind snowflake decorated by a children's book artist. Founded by Blue Rose Girl Grace Lin and her late husband Robert, this event is definitely something to check out. The snow flakes are amazing.

Recovering

I'm recovering from my weekend exposure to lots of nature, ironic since I am writing about the healing natural properties of The Secret Garden. Irony abounds in life.

Starting to See Daylight

It's time to return to the blogosphere. Classes are over, but the work is not. Must meet with students, finish drafts, and grade papers. And, of course, my own writing, of which I am recharged and refocused. Yes, tons of work, but the structure will mostly be up to me.
